Expected publication: January 3rd 2017 by Clarion Books

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Norah has agoraphobia and OCD. When groceries are left on the porch, she can’t step out to get them. Struggling to snag the bags with a stick, she meets Luke. He’s sweet and funny, and he just caught her fishing for groceries. Because of course he did.

Norah can’t leave the house, but can she let someone in? As their friendship grows deeper, Norah realizes Luke deserves a normal girl. One who can lie on the front lawn and look up at the stars. One who isn’t so screwed up.

I don't remember ever reading a YA book about mental health issues such as this. Sounds interesting.

Expected publication: December 6th 2016 by Disney-Hyperion

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The world is made safe by a woman...but it is a very big world.

It has been generations since the Storyteller Queen drove the demon out of her husband and saved her country from fire and blood. Her family has prospered beyond the borders of their village, and two new kingdoms have sprouted on either side of the mountains where the demons are kept prisoner by bright iron, and by the creatures the Storyteller Queen made to keep them contained.

But the prison is crumbling. Through years of careful manipulation, a demon has regained her power. She has made one kingdom strong and brought the other to its knees, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. When a princess is born, the demon is ready with the final blow: a curse that will cost the princess her very soul, or force her to destroy her own people to save her life.

The threads of magic are tightly spun, binding princess and exiled spinners into a desperate plot to break the curse before the demon can become a queen of men. But the web of power is dangerously tangled--and they may not see the true pattern until it is unspooled.

This is the sequel to A Thousand Nights. Anyone else interested in reading this book?

When Britta is caught poaching by the royal guard, instead of facing the noose she is offered a deal: her freedom in exchange for her father’s killer.

She must go on a dangerous quest in a world of warring kingdoms, mad kings, and dark magic to find the real killer. But Britta wields more power than she knows. Review: Love on the Run (Pine Harbour #5) by Zoe York

Love on the Run (Pine Harbour #5)Love on the Run (Pine Harbour #5) by Zoe York

Publication Date: September 20, 2016
Page Count: 261
Published by: ZoYo Press
Source: purchased via Amazon

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Bodyguard. [Noun]
A person hired to escort and protect another person. Escort and protect. Definitely no flirting, kissing, or testing the bounds of third base.

Dean Foster has nearly two decades experience being calm, cool, and collected. His first gig in his new private security contractor role should be more of the same, but Nashville superstar Liana Hansen blows all that out of the water in one breathy hello.

Liana isn’t sure how she feels about the straight-laced cop shadowing her everywhere she goes, but there’s no denying the chemistry between them. Too bad he insists on keeping his clothes on. And then there’s the pesky matter of feelings. Neither of them likes those.

With only a dozen stops left on the tour, one of them is going to have to bend. Or the other is going to wind up breaking something.

I really enjoyed reading Love on the Run, the 5th book in the Pine Harbour Series. Dean and Liana were so likable that I couldn't help but root for them to have a HEA. Dean proved how wonderful he was by helping Liana through her problems. She was able learn how to take control not just of her emotions, but her life as well. The big lug was overprotective, and he had a soft spot for Liana, and I loved seeing his sensitive side when she was around.

Overall, this was a delightful book and a quick read. I actually recommend reading the entire Pine Harbour series so you can get to know all of these amazing guys! (Sean's story is up next in this series, and I absolutely cannot wait to read it after having been teased in the epilogue of Love on the Run.)

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The Kobayashi twins discover that cross-dressing as each other leads to trouble and true love!

The Kobayashi twins, Megumu and Mitsuru, were named after historical figures, but only Megumu has grown up with a taste for history. So when Mitsuru is in danger of losing his weekends to extra history classes, he convinces his sister to swap clothes with him and ace his tests! After all, how hard can it be for them to play each other?

Uesugi has been making plenty of enemies since coming to town, and a group of them have kidnapped Megumu as part of their revenge. Aoi and Uesugi put aside their differences in order to team up to rescue her, but in the ensuing battle Aoi loses his eye patch! Can Megumu convince him that his hidden wounds won’t scare her away, or will the trauma of his past be the end of their future?

My library (Finally!) got Volumes 7, 8, and 9 for me. I was so excited I went and picked them up right away. Now I can binge read and catch up on the series. Every volume ends on a cliffhanger, so I'm always left wondering what happens next! This series is sickeningly sweet, and highly addictive.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Sherlock Holmes and Miss James “Mori” Moriarty may have closed their first case, but the mystery is far from over in the thrilling sequel to Lock & Mori, perfect for fans of Maureen Johnson and Sherlock.

You know their names. Now discover their beginnings.

Mori’s abusive father is behind bars…and she has never felt less safe. Threatening letters have started appearing on her doorstep, and the police are receiving anonymous tips suggesting that Mori—not her father—is the Regent’s Park killer. To make matters worse, the police are beginning to believe them.

Through it all, Lock—frustrating, brilliant, gorgeous Lock—is by her side. The two of them set out to discover who is framing Mori, but in a city full of suspects, the task is easier said than done. With the clock ticking, Mori will discover just how far she is willing to go to make sure that justice is served, and no one—not even Lock—will be able to stop her.

How can the 2nd book be out so soon when I haven't read the 1st book yet? I feel like such a slacker! I really need to read the first book so I can be ready when this one comes out.

Review: It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

It Ends with UsIt Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

Publication Date: August 2, 2016
Page Count: 367
Published by: Atria Books
Source: Borrowed ebook from Library

Synopsis from Goodreads:

SOMETIMES THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU IS THE ONE WHO HURTS YOU THE MOST

Lily hasn't always had it easy, but that's never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She's come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up - she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily's life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He's also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily, but Ryle's complete aversion to relationships is disturbing.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan - her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

This book contains graphic scenes and very sensitive subject matter.

 photo MyThoughtsBanner2_zps1bk1ovpj.png

Despite being excited to start reading this book, it was really difficult for me to get into the story. Over a week later I was only halfway through, so I buckled down and read the rest. It took to about the 70% mark to even get my interest up, and then I just wanted to finish and see how things would end. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to feel anything for the characters OR the story. I know I was supposed to have 'all the feels', but I honestly couldn't care less. Maybe it was because I wasn't feeling any chemistry between Lily and Ryle, or between Lily and Atlas. Another reason had to do with the absolute slaying of 'Mr. Perfect'. I can't even go there right now.

This was my first time reading a Colleen Hoover book (because it had the shortest wait list at the library.) I didn't even read the synopsis, so I had no idea what it was about. Even though I didn't really like this book, I'm willing to read another of her books to form a better opinion.
